Agenda

Day 1 / Friday 13 June 2025

Using Type to Support Emotionally Intelligent Leadership

This session is especially relevant for HR professionals who want to support strong, people-focused leadership.

How can we help leaders better understand themselves and others in a complex work environment? In this session, we explore how personality type can be a helpful tool to create more self-awareness and develop emotional intelligence in leadership.

The session is led by CfL’s own senior leadership consultant, who has more than 25 years of experience working with type, leadership, and talent development. She brings a practical mindset and deep insight into what actually works when developing leaders.

Through real-life examples and situations from leadership practice, you will see how even small, conscious changes in behavior can make a big difference in how leaders connect and communicate with others.

Annette Elgaard Bøttger
Annette Elgaard Bøttger is a leadership consultant at CfL specializing in Jungian typology. She has worked with leadership and talent development for more than 25 years both nationally and internationally.

Balanced Leadership: Navigating Emotional Intelligence Through Opposites ●●● Adv

This session offers hands-on, applicable learning for HR professionals and leaders who want to foster more emotionally intelligent, resilient, and people-centered organisations.

You will learn how to lead more effectively by working with—not against—the natural tensions that exist in leadership, such as Thinking vs. Feeling.

Jane Kise introduces practical tools from polarity thinking to help you navigate complex dilemmas without having to choose between two valuable approaches. Instead of either/or, you’ll discover how to apply both/and thinking to real leadership challenges.

Jane Kise
Jane Kise, Ed.D., has worked with personality type for over 30 years. The author of over 25 books, she consults around the world. She helps leaders create environments where everyone can use their strengths.

When Type Becomes Movement: Activating Development Through Body and Mind ●●● Adv

This session is for you if you are curious about the connection between typology, learning, and physically grounded development.

Together, we’ll explore the transition between the comfort zone and the development zone—and how this shift can be observed both in personality profiles and in the body’s motor patterns.

Building on the advanced principles of the ActionTypes approach, the session examines how the brain accesses different cognitive functions depending on the situation and mental state.

The focus is on the dynamic between the dominant functions (1 and 2) and the more growth-oriented functions (3 and 4), and how this internal shift can be consciously activated—both physically and mentally.

You’ll gain a new perspective on how personal development can be supported through body awareness and type insights, offering practical value for leadership development, coaching, and learning environments.

Remco Nijboer, John Ogink, Bertrand Théraulaz
Remco Nijboer is the JTI license holder for the Netherlands and Belgium. He co-authored 80 Exercises to Apply Jungian Typology. With John Ogink, he combines JTI and ActionTypes in coaching and team development. Bertrand Théraulaz co-founded ActionTypes in 1989, integrating movement and personality for growth.

EQ in Practice: Learning Scenarios Through the Lens of Type ●● Int

This is a dynamic and hands-on session for those who want to integrate typology into everyday leadership and team collaboration.

In this practical and dialogue-based session, participants work in small groups using real-life scenarios that reflect common communication challenges in the workplace.

Through shared reflection and a type-based lens, we explore the dynamics at play—identifying personality patterns and learning how to respond with greater emotional intelligence.

You'll strengthen your ability to recognise type differences in action, deepen your emotional intelligence, and walk away with concrete methods you can use directly in training, facilitation, or coaching.

Rob's professional use of psychological type began 20 years ago with the launch of TypeCoach. He has delivered sessions to tens of thousands of people around the globe. He’s an avid BAPT supporter – as a speaker and via his cartoon series Two Peas in a Pod.

Can AI Strengthen Emotional Intelligence in Leaders? ● For All

Artificial intelligence often sparks both excitement and concern: Will it replace us? Will we lose our ability to think and feel for ourselves?

In this session we will shift the focus from fear to possibility—exploring how AI can actually support leaders in developing their emotional intelligence.

You’ll gain insights into how AI can be used as an active tool in leadership development—enhancing rather than replacing human qualities like self-awareness, empathy, and relational intelligence.

Through practical examples and guided reflection, we explore how AI can be integrated meaningfully into HR and leadership practices, creating value in partnership with human skills.

A thought-provoking session for those curious about the leadership tools of the future—and how technology and emotional intelligence can grow side by side.

When the Environment Shapes Type – Typology, Adaptation, & Authenticity ● For All

This session is for those who want to understand how we can support development—not in spite of our environment, but in partnership with it.

We explore how context and culture can limit or distort the natural expression of personality type preferences—and what that means for both personal and professional growth.

You’ll gain insight into how environmental pressures can lead individuals to adapt in ways that don’t align with their natural preferences, and how this can impact well-being, authenticity, and emotional intelligence—both at the individual and organisational level.

As a participant, you’ll take away practical ideas for how leaders and HR professionals can create environments that allow people to be themselves—while also supporting the development of emotionally intelligent and authentic leadership.

Emotional Intelligence Across the Leadership Pipeline: Typology in Practice ● For All

This session offers a clearer understanding of how to tailor leadership development using personality type—adapting it to both the individual and the organisational level.

How do we develop emotionally intelligent leaders from frontline managers to senior executives? We explore how different leadership levels require different types of decision-making, emotional competencies, and type-related behaviours.

You’ll gain insight into why preferences such as Extraversion, Intuition, and Perceiving often become more prominent at higher levels of leadership—and why recognising these patterns matters in leadership development.

Using the JTI (Jungian Type Index) framework, we move beyond the usual “hard” vs. “soft” leadership labels and offer a more nuanced, balanced view of how emotional intelligence is expressed in practice—across the entire leadership pipeline.

Day 2 / Saturday 14 June 2025

Beyond the Basics: Developing Leaders from the Inside Out

This is a session that expands your thinking and offers inspiration for working more deeply with leadership growth in today’s complex environments.

How do we support leadership growth when traditional methods no longer go far enough? This session offers fresh perspectives for HR professionals working strategically and long-term with leadership development.

Angelina introduces a model of psychological maturity in leadership, based on the developmental stage theories of Loevinger and Cook-Greuter*. She connects this vertical development approach with emotional intelligence and Jungian type theory.

Drawing on a real-life leadership program and insights from her Ph.D. research, she shares how to support leaders’ inner development – and how to tailor development efforts to where each leader is in their personal and professional journey.

*Loevinger and Cook-Greuter are two prominent researchers who have made significant contributions to theories of human development – particularly in the areas of psychological maturity and ego development. Their work is frequently used in leadership development, especially in the context of what is known as vertical development.

Creative Tools for Emotional Intelligence – When Typology Meets Feelings ● For All

This session offers a range of practical, creative tools you can take with you and apply directly in facilitation, leadership development, and coaching. These tools help you work more deeply and engagingly with emotional intelligence—both in one-on-one settings and with teams.

Emotions are complex, and we often judge them (and ourselves) as either good or bad. In this session, we explore how creativity and type together can support the development of emotional intelligence.

Through visual and creative exercises, participants gain new perspectives on their own emotional reactions and preferences. You’ll learn how to approach emotions more openly and constructively—both on an individual level and within group dynamics.

Anna Crollick

Whether you are a CEO, coach, HR partner, or experienced leader, you are invited to bring your own perspective. You'll have the opportunity to share experiences, listen to others, and gain new insight into what it means to be a mindful and balanced leader.

You’ll gain concrete examples of how MBTI—and type theory more broadly—can be applied to strengthen leaders’ self-awareness and interpersonal skills, helping to create more sustainable and people-centred change in the way we work together.
